Anime and Thespianism

I think I'm doing pretty good on writing a new post nearly everyday! So I went on Youtube and was looking at my subscriptions and I see that most of my stuff if either for anime/cosplay or Harry Potter or something in that immediate area. So I'm know that the anime community has become a big thing with a lot of people and I'm wondering what everyones thoughts are on this topic and what some of your favorite Anime or Manga are...Personally I ADORE OHSHC (Ouran High School Host Club for anyone who doesn't know), Yu Yu Hackusho, and Black Butler. I also want to know what got you started on the journey to Otakuness (Or something rather close to it) For me it was either the English dub of Tokyo Mew Mew (Mew Mew Power for the English dub) on 4Kids or it was Kiki's Delivery Service from Hayoa Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli.
On that note (and this has nothing to do with what I was just talking about) the school year is nearly up and I have really begun to notice the absence of my Thespian buddies in my weekends (And no Thespian isn't lesbians or anything...sorry had to get that out). Since we finished up our last play for the year (The Mystery of Edwin Droood) so early in the year the absence of it in my Saturdays has been really noticeable when I don't have an ACTUAL reason to hang out with my crew guys. I want to know who else is a big Theater person. What plays have you done? What plays have you seen on Broadway or something close to it? What is your favorite play? Does your Theater club allow you to have lightsabor fights right before a performance? And lastly: What is your favorite part of being in Theater and has it done something positive in your life? Because it really has for me, I used to be very self-conscience about myself and I could never do stand up presentations for classes (I think I almost passed out once) But once I started the Theater Arts class at my school and joined the Drama club, I was totally fine and I could do commercials in my science class with the best of them (Seeing as that was the first project I got to do with my new confidence). Anyway please share your thoughts cause I REALLY want to hear them!

Commercials

This has pretty much nothing to do with anything other than this is the most EPIC Water bottle commercials that I have ever seen. Commercials seriously suck when it comes to suspencful moments in TV shows or when you want to watch an awsome music video or some anime on youtube, but some are just worth the watch. Like the Kia Soul commercial with the gangster hamsters. Although my favorites are the ballerina hamsters that you see for like two secounds. What are some of your guy's favorite commercials?

Hippie Culture

Alright for a project in my history class (which is due this week when we really should be reviewing for our upcoming finals) we had to work with partners on a topic from the 60's-early 70's. My partner and I got hippies as our topic and as I'm finishing it up I'm wondering to myself 'Is the hippie culture still going?'. I mean I know that the majority of it is dead, but is there still some small group that still practice it?

What I really want to know is if anyone of you (however few of you there might or might not be) who read this blog, if you have any family members that were around during the hippie craze and if so if they have any good stories from that time. Also if anyone is still influenced by the hippie culture. I'm talking about clothing, music, hair styles, ANYTHING! Anyway get back to me on that cause I think that the 60's-70's were a fascinating time in America's history (Not as awesome as the 20's, but hey nothings perfect).

The Hunger Games

Alright so some of you may or may not know that The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is in the makings of being a film. (Now if you're like me, you're probably screaming out of horror after reading this much. Hehe) It's going to be directed by Gary Ross, who also directed Seabiscuit, and Jennifer Lawrence will be playing Katniss. Now You're all probably thinking: 'That blonde from Winter's Bone?' Yes that same girl; however, she dyed her hair dark brown and she is actually starting to look like Katniss and she's going through archery and speed training to make sure she's up to Katniss' standards.
For some reason when I saw this in Entertainment Weekly I immediately thought about Annabeth from Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, another movie that was based off of a book, which is strange because the two movies have almost nothing in common. Different directors, different actresses, different stories, and different settings. But I'm probably thinking of how these are my favorite books and heroins and I'm scared that their going to screw up my image of Katniss just like they did for Annabeth (Who is sappost to be blonde!)
Oh and since this is my first blog I'm gonna say hi my names MacKenzie and no this isn't going to be a movie review blog (Well sometimes), I'm going to be putting up different things like fashion, music, the amazingness of Youtube, and more awesome stuff.
